The newest release from Glendalough Distillery, our Double Barrel Cask Strength Irish Whiskey.
This liquid begins its maturation process in flame charred ex Bourbon American oak casks. It is finished in premium first fill Oloroso casks from Montilla, a small town found in the rolling hills of the Spanish countryside. We choose the bodega, the liquid, the casks and the cooper in this region of Spain to deliver a terroir driven sense of this land. It is encapsulated in the liquid when we put our Irish whiskey in these slow toasted Spanish casks for aging.
This liquid is bottled from the cask at 61.3% ABV in an homage to the heritage and original craft of distillation, which has been part of Irish culture for centuries.

The nose
Aromas of rich dark fruits, nuts and citrus with notes of nutmeg.
The taste:
Sweet and smooth with cherries, honey & peppercorn spices.
The finish:
A long finish with warming ginger spices that linger on the palate alongside hints of nuts.

CASK STRENGTH IRISH COFFEE
INGREDIENTS:
- 50ML CASK STRENGTH DOUBLE BARREL IRISH WHISKEY
- 120ML FRESHLY BREWED COFFEE
- HEAVY CREAM
- 2TSP DEMERARA SUGAR
GARNISH: GRATED NUTMEG OR CHOCOLATE
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Pour 120mL of freshly brewed coffee into an Irish coffee glass.
- Add 50mL of Cask Strength Double Barrel Irish Whiskey.
- Add 2 teaspoons of demerara sugar
- Stir all ingredients and top gently with heavy cream.
- Garnish with grated nutmeg or chocolate.
